Today is all about... U !

Hi there!

Combining challenges to create a card are sometimes just as much fun as making the card itself!

Today's card is an example !

today is all about you

Up close:

today is all about you

* Edited... spot the mistake! Seems as if I got my alphabet mixed up... silly Q!

It is also an example of exactly what I love to do when I design - combining 'traditional'  stamping and digital elements which I design in the Silhouette studio.
So what is stamped, and what is from the studio?

The alphabet strip on the right hand side, the kraft heart & the sentiment were designed in the Silhouette studio, printed with a printer, and cut with my cameo.

The wood grain pattern on the heart was stamped with a background stamp from Kaisercraft and Versafine Onyx Black ink.

The gingham pattern behind the heart was stamped with another Kaisercraft background stamp and Adirondack Brights ink (Ranger) in Watermelon. 🍉
I partially inked up the stamp to create a distressed look.

The font I used to cut 'today' is called... wait for it... Watermelon-script  🍉 (not planned, I promise!)

The alphas font is Courier .

I created a digital sentiment based on my card for your personal use. Feel free to download and use!

Altenew February challenge : Take 2

Hi there!

The beautiful bougainvillea on the February Inspiration photo at Altenew inspired another card 🌸

My card:

Altenew Mini Blossoms

I used the Altenew Mini Blossom set this time.
Sentiment from the Adore you set also by Altenew.

The wood grain background stamp is by Kaisercraft and was inspired by the rustic wood window shutters in the back.

Inks used:
Versafine Onyx black
Picked raspberry (Tim Holtz)
Lemon grass (Avery Elle)

CAS(e) this sketch #209

Hi there!

A last Valentine's day card for CAS(e) this sketch this week!

My card, a one layer take on the sketch:

For my card I used the inlaid die technique for the hearts and simply stamped my sentiment with Versafine Onyx Black across, using my Misti.

Really super quick and easy!
The hearts are from Miss Kate cuttables, cut with my Silhouette.
Sentiment from Happy Little Stampers : Everyday Sentiments.

Adding my link to the following challenges:

Less is more ~ One layer : Opposites attract

  • Up/down
  • Big/ small
  • Fonts: Bold Cursive/ Simple smaller sans serif. (BTW... according to typography experts this is the  rule in combining fonts... opposites attract, but steer clear from conflict )
PS... I know red and pink are not really opposites, but I've grown up learning that you can never wear pink and red together 😄. Anybody else that was taught that way too? But these days I guess anything goes!

CAS-ual Fridays ~ Pink red and white

Just us girls  ~ Hearts

Hello Gorgeous !

Hi there!

Another card for today... this time for Karren's inspiration photo at Inspired by all the little things !

A closer look:

I tried to reflect the modern, contemporary & clean feel of the picture, focusing on the beautiful pink bouquet of flowers, with geometric shapes and a bit of bling to bring it to life!

The flower is a design from the Silhouette store Design ID #119639.

I colored it with my Promarkers, and added a sentiment from Altenew Spring Daisy set.

LOVE... is the best medicine

Hi there!

Although Valentines day is something of the past for now...

we all need LOVE ...

every. single. day. of. our. lives!

A closer look:

I used an ancient little dotted heart stamp from Chiswick. A South-African company if I remember correctly. Stamped with Versafine and my Misti. Colored with Zigs.

The sentiment is my own design, and you are welcome to download one or the other or both!

CASology : Romance

Hi there!

Yes it's the 14th of February and it's CASology day!

So here's an invitation to come and share your romance inspired cards with us!

We are so fortunate to have Uniko as our sponsor this week. Also a special month for Uniko as this is their 5 year anniversary month . Congratulations Bev!

I used the largest stamp from the Marvellous mehndi set for my card today with a hidden !

Straight from above:

... and from the side:

I stamped the image with Versafine Onyx black and my Misti stamping tool. To keep the design clean, I used a heart die to cut out a heart, colored it with my Promarkers, popped it up on sparkly pink fun foam and putting it back right where it belong 💗

I added a sentiment , die cut from the same fun foam mentioned above.

Birthday flower

Hi there!

I LOVE the beautiful color palette Nance picked for this week's challenge at The paper players !

It made me think of the soft and elegant card made by Therese as inspiration at The flower challenge , so I combined elements of the 2 challenges and came up with this birthday card which I will also link at Seize the birthday (no topping option).

A closer look:

I used copper foil from Deco foil, a flower from the Silhouette store and a sentiment from Miss Kate Cuttables.
I layered the flower over pink vellum and added pink enamel dots as a final touch.

Caseing the following aspects for the flower challenge:

  • Layout (sketch)
  • Die cut flower over pattern
  • Using (some of) the colors and embellishments
